Same As It Ever Was

The Diamond Dogs have started - Janurary baseball, I like it but there's somethin' not quite right about it - and the Bulldogs are off to their, now regular, slow start (they lost three straight to an unranked S.L.O. team.

This is coach Mike Batesole's year. His highly recruited players with a Rice-less WAC - not going to get easier than that.

I miss the Bulldog-Baseball-is-king days, I hope coach can turn this team around quick before we're faced with another .500 season.

Dorktown Meets Stanley

The ECHL All-Star game was great. Couldn't have asked for a better game with the Nationals winning a goal-fest and Fresno Falcon Luke Curtin wining the game MVP. And I saw THE sports tropy: the Stanley Cup.

Fresno Is All Stars

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Fresno's recent history of supporting major sports events has been weak.

A couple seasons ago, Fresno hosted the WAC Basketball Tourney - Fresnans didn't turn out. Last year, Fresno hosted the women's NCAA Basketball Regionals - You could hear the players sweat dripping.

Now Fresnans have another chance to show they can host an event. The Fresno Falcons and the Save Mart Center are hosting the ECHL All-Star Game Janurary 24-25th.

This is our chance Fresno. Our chance to show the sports world we can support a major event that doesn't exclusively involve a Fresno team.

The "Stars" of Dorktown will be there - How about you?

David Lee Radio

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Fresno's morning radio is very different than it was a year ago. "The Front Row" (103.7) is now gone and has been replaced by "Mancow". I never thought I would miss The Front Row but Mancow is terrible.

Also new is the "Adam Corrola Show". It has replaced "Kevin and Bean" which was really starting to grow on me. They had some good radio sketches and I wish they were still here.

The biggest change is something the whole country has experienced: Howard Stern has moved on to Sirius and The Jack has replaced him locally. I am lucky enough to have Sirius and I love Howard's show. It is the ultimate in radio entertainment from the man who started it all.

In some markets, David Lee Roth has taken over Howard's old spot. Being an ab-normally large Van Halen fan, I was real curious to hear what Dave sounds like doing a radio show. You can check it for yourself by going to Roth Radio. I was very surprised to hear how docile he is. That is not the Dave I know.

Lazy Dude Watch

Around Dorktown Christmas lights stay lit till the day after New Years (like most people I suppose).

Want to test a person to see how lazy they are? See how long it takes them to pull down (I do PULL down by the way) their X-Mas lights. Right now it is January 7th. So that's six days Dorktown has left the lights up longer than we should.

So that makes this:
DAY SIX OF LAZY-ASS WATCH
