Now YOU Can Be Fresno Famous!

Ever been to a Fresno bar and wanted to tell everyone how bad it sucked? Seen a really good Fresno band that nobody has heard about? Do you know a local Fresno "Mom and Pop" store that needs some publicity love?

Now is your chance to tell Fresno's hip about that disappointing bar, underrated band and struggling Fresno shop.

Fresno Famous has launched a new version of their website that allows everybody to get involved. You can write a blog, post an article or show off your new/old thrift shop find.

Even if you don't want to be "Fresno Famous", it's worth checkin' out.

GeTchyooo Live Falcons Heerre!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hockey is the best sport to watch live. If you're a Fresno Falcon fan, the only way to watch a game live is to, well, be there (no LIVE television version of the game).

There is a televised version of the game but it is taped and played the next day. The idea being you might not go Save Mart and see the game if you can watch it live on television.

I've always thought it would be nice to have a live "boob tube" broadcast, just to get ya thinking about the Falcons. Then you might go out and pay to see them the next time.

Well, now you can see a live broadcast and pay.

If you go to the Fresno Falconswebsite ten minutes before the start of the game, you can click on a B2Live button and be taken to a website where you can pay six bucks to watch the game live, over the internet. I haven't tried it yet but I plan to; just to get me thinking about the Falcons.

Always Check Developers Pockets

Developer spin was in full-cycle Wednesday, crying about the upcoming vote that (if approved) will force them to "think green" when building future homes.

Now developers have the Clovis Mayor and local talk show host, Ray Appleton, lobbying for them.

Ray was rambling on today, commenting about the "Op-Ed" piece in today's Fresno Bee, calling Kathryn Phillips' piece "Typical left leaning, fuzzy wuzzy was a bear."

Isn't it odd that he considers people who are "warm and fuzzy", bad?

Ray went on to say, "Who comes up with this stuff?!" refering to bike lanes, better sidewalks and other pollution reducing ideas. Ray doesn't use them so he assumes nobody does. Just ask his belly.

Developers Smoging The Truth

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It's time again to watch out for Fresno developer smoke screens.

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is voting Thursday, to put in place, new "air friendly" rules for future development. And, of course, developers are whining.

The developer's argument is weak, at best.

This point is made well by Jarah at Fresno Famous. And by .Bill McEwen at the Fresno Bee.

I can't even see the mountains in the winter anymore. Something has got to change

Shut Up and Hit NOBODY

Shut up Pat Hill. Shut up Fresno State players. Shut up Fresno fans. Shut up about deserving to be in the Pac 10 or the Mountain West.

We haven't been the best team in the Western Athletic Conference in over six years. Fresno's not even a big fish in the small pond of the WAC.

It has become obvious, over the years, Pat Hill doesn't give a shit about playing WAC teams (or he can't get his players to).

So please, everyone, be happy we're in the WAC and SHUT UP.
