IT'S NOT MY IDEA

With my apologies to comedy writers like Argus Hamilton and Dalton Ross (E-Weekly's "Hit List") and blogers like Sour Grapes Jarah, I would like to start giving my own smart-ass comments...Fresno style.

NERD RAMBLINGS

On Tuesday, Fresno City Council approved a resolution to say they INTEND to raise developer fees (so Fresno can actually afford to have parks and emergency services).

I'm sorry - What? They approved a resolution to intend to one day (Sept 20th), maybe vote to raise developer fees? That is,if they remember that day and if everybody makes it back from lunch in time and it's not raining or too hot. But if somebody is sick or a really good Matlock rerun is on that day, they might not be able to possibly get to it...What were we talking about?

Ya see, that's why people just can't get into local politics. Councils vote to vote another day...maybe.

So That's Why We Suck

Fresno - I love it and hate it. I mostly love Fresno for what it could be - the potential. Fresno's a small city that is racing to be an adult "big city" (L.A.'s stepchild). Yet, with all of this growth, there's still time to mold it into a great city.

But with developers that have no concise and a city goverment that is spiritless (at best), it makes it hard for Fresno to become a "great city".

A major problem in the city's growth is: SPRAWL, SPRAWL, SPRAWL. All with no new parks. Tons of new developments with no parks or library's or, well, anything. Nothing but "nice" strip malls and new houses for people from the Bay Area (normal Fresnans can't afford a house in Fresno anymore).

The good folks over at Fresno Famous explain why. "Sour Grapes" (Fresno Famous' Blog) has a link to an article printed in the L.A. Times, that makes it clear what Fresno has done wrong and how Fresno is a haven for Profit Hungry Developers.

Way To Go Fresno!

We did it Fresno. A lot of people doubted us. Barstow said we could never do it, I think their exact words were, "You weak-ass bitches couldn't handle it!"

What did Fresnans do? Break records other Californians couldn't handle.

Fresnans went through 21 straight days of 100 degrees. This is a Fresno record that's been around since 1933 and we BROKE THE MUTHA'!

So congratulations Fresno - Barstow...SUCK IT!

The First Dorky Post

This is just a test. Soon there will be posts about whatever dork-ass things pop into my head. Likey those "things" will involve Fresno, Star Wars or both. Watch out win "both" comes into play.
