Unlikely Pair

Fresno isn't exactly the first city you would think of as being a hockey town. Although it might be a stretch to call Fresno a "hockey town", there is a successful minor league hockey team here called the Fresno Falcons.

(If you have never gone to a hockey game, I highly suggest going - Great sport to watch live)

Well, as strange as hockey and Fresno may sound, there's another Fresno and hockey related different...um...sounding...thh...thingy:
FALCONS TO DONATE SEASON TICKET PROCEEDS TO HURRICANE VICTIMS!

If you buy Fresno Falcon season TICKETS, anytime between now and the start of the season (October 21) the Fresno Falcons will donate half of the sales to American Red Cross.

Here is a breakdown of how much you would be donating by buying season tickets:

Blue (section) $752 = $376
Red $680 = $340
Green $604 = $302
Gold $582 = $291
Silver/Family $456 = $228
Student $312 = $156

*For more information, please call (559) 485-PUCK (7825) or check out the Press Release.

Pretty damn sweet - you get to see some great hockey and donate to some needy people. I guess it doesn't sound all that strange.
